Another trip to the cottage in Michigan

Last month Mike and I spent a wonderful week and a half with his family at the same cottage we stayed with them at last summer. This year was even more special as the whole family was there--Mike's parents and all four of their boys, their wives, and the seven grandkids. We had a few other special guests as well--Julia and Patricia (my sister-in-law Teresa's mother and sister), visiting from Peru, and Sarah and Moses (my good friend and her son), visiting from Ontario.

Mike and I both agreed that this was the most relaxing vacation we've ever been on. Reading, walking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, playing video games, playing cards, playing volleyball, lounging on the hammock . . . the most stressful events were cooking (which we had to do all of twice), and washing dishes, which was hardly a chore at all.

Mike once again proved himself to be the best uncle ever, appeasing every request from his nieces to take them swimming or kayaking or whatever else their hearts desired.

We also spent a couple of days (but only one night) in Grand Rapids and enjoyed attending Mike's cousin's son's 1st birthday party and meeting up for lunch with my mom and my "Uncle" Woody, "Aunt" Lorey, and "Aunt" Marge, with whom my mom was visiting.

Coming home and going back to work was a little disappointing after such a great vacation, but such is life. We are looking forward to another trip to Michigan and the wonderful cottage at Strawberry Lake sometime in the future.
