Mike and I were in Portland again a couple of weekends ago. He had class all weekend and I attended a worship workshop all day Saturday. By the time Sunday morning rolled around, I decided that I could really use some time to process everything that I had learned rather than taking in still more, so I decided to look for a coffee shop to camp at for the morning. Much to my delight, I instead came across a tea shop called
Tea Chai Te. As a non-coffee drinker, at coffee shops I usually find only one or two items on the menu that interest me. The menu at Tea Chai Te, however, was filled with so many enticing-sounding drinks that it took me a good five to ten minutes to make my selection. They had green teas, black teas, herbal teas, bubble teas, and quite the selection of chai (about ten different varieties). I finally decided on a spicy chai that had some lovely mint overtones. It was delicious. The atmosphere also didn't fail to disappoint--it was very mellow and quiet, perfect for me to dive into the new book I had just acquired from Powell's--
In the Land of Invisible Women--which so far I highly recommend. But I'll save more on that for another post.
